On 1 October 2026, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the honour to welcome His Majesty’s Ambassador to Estonia, H.E. Ms Jo Lomas. The Ambassador was warmly welcomed by the Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, Major General Egils Leščinskis, and our Deputy Commandant and Chief of Staff, Colonel Jonathan Huxley.

As this marked her first official visit to the College, it provided an excellent opportunity to introduce our core vision, mission, comprehensive educational programmes, and ongoing academic activities. During the office call, discussions focused on the strong ties between the United Kingdom and BALTDEFCOL, noting the UK's valuable role as a contributing nation through key leadership personnel. Both sides explored ways to further strengthen this existing partnership, including potential opportunities for the Ambassador to engage directly with our students, faculty, and upcoming academic conferences.

H.E. Ms Jo Lomas took up her appointment as Ambassador in late July 2026, and we look forward to welcoming her to the College and hosting her at our events many times in the future.
