Today, on 30 September, the students of the Air Force Command and Staff Course (AFCSC) visited the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). The visiting delegation consisted of air force officers from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, reflecting the programme's tri-national character.

 

The delegation was welcomed by Major General Egils Leščinskis, the Commandant of the Baltic Defence College, which was followed by comprehensive briefing sessions. The general college briefing provided an overview of our mission, educational programmes, and contribution to professional military education. Additionally, the students received an overview of our Joint Command and General Staff Course (JCGSC), giving them a glimpse of what may lie ahead for them on their future career paths.

 

The main objective of the visit was to broaden their horizons. In addition to BALTDEFCOL, the delegation also acquainted themselves with the Estonian Aviation Academy and visited various Air Force units.

 

Conducted annually by the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, the AFCSC plays an important role in the professional development of mid-career air force officers and contributes to strengthening cooperation among the Baltic states.
