On 27 August 2026, the Baltic Defence College welcomed a delegation from the National Defence Academy of Latvia, represented by LTC Aivars Leicāns, Vice-Rector of Studies, and Ms Ingūna Romanova, Director of the MA Programme in Military Leadership and Security. The delegation was welcomed by BALTDEFCOL Commandant BG Egils Leščinskis and Dean Dr Tiia-Triin Truusa.

The visit focused on the jointly delivered MA programme in Military Leadership and Security. Discussions addressed programme development, assessment arrangements, practical organisation, promotion and outreach, thesis supervision and quality, and the participation of BALTDEFCOL faculty. The programme concluded with an introduction to the MA programme for Joint Command and General Staff Course students.

The visit supported continued institutional dialogue on the academic quality and effective delivery of the joint programme.
