On 27 August 2026, the Baltic Defence College hosted a delegation from the Multinational Division North for a study visit focusing on regional security, professional military education, and Baltic defence perspectives. The delegation was welcomed by the Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, Brigadier General Egils Leščinskis, and the Dean, Dr Tiia-Triin Truusa.
The programme provided an opportunity to present the College’s academic mission and to exchange views on the evolving security environment in the Baltic region.
Dr Tiia-Triin Truusa delivered an institutional briefing outlining the College’s educational framework, mission, and current academic activities. The briefing was followed by a Q&A session, during which participants discussed how teaching methods and academic directions have evolved, as well as the organisation’s future development.

The visit concluded with a lecture by Dr Viljar Veebel titled “The Baltic Security Perspective: An Analysis of Threat Perception, the ‘Small State’ Defence Strategy, and the Evolution of Baltic Defence Strategies Post-2022”. The presentation provided a strategic analysis of threat perceptions, small-state defence approaches, and the regional strategic evolution following changes in the security environment since 2022.
