On 18th August 2026, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the honour of hosting H.E. Ms Amit Gil-Bayaz, the Ambassador of Israel to Estonia, along with her delegation. She was welcomed by Brigadier General Egils Leščinskis, the Commandant of the Baltic Defence College.
The main objective of the visit was to introduce the Ambassador to the College’s mission, its pivotal role in professional military education, and its contributions to regional security within the framework of the Baltic states and NATO.
During the engagement, the Commandant and the Ambassador discussed potential cooperation between Israel and BALTDEFCOL. Dialogue focused on the possibility of Israeli participation in the College’s core courses and diverse educational programmes.
This visit serves as a valuable continuation of the visit by Major General Dan Newman, Commander of the Israel Defense Forces Military Colleges, at the end of last year, demonstrating growing international interest in the College's work year after year.
