On 4th September, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the distinct honour of hosting H.E. Mr Juris Pēkalis, Ambassador of Latvia to Estonia.

With both the BALTDEFCOL Commandant and His Excellency newly appointed to their respective roles, the visit served as an excellent opportunity to establish direct ties, outline the College’s core mission, and explore avenues for future cooperation. Discussions also focused on how best to support the Latvian community here at the College and across Estonia.

At BALTDEFCOL, we take great pride in celebrating the traditions and key milestones of our three framework nations—Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. This meeting provided a timely platform to coordinate upcoming national celebrations and commemorations taking place for Latvia this November.

We look forward to a close and fruitful collaboration with the Embassy of Latvia in Estonia!
