We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Tiia-Triin Truusa as the new Dean of the BALTDEFCOL.

Dr. Truusa has developed excellent leadership skills through her work at the University of Tartu and also her five years as the Manager of Academic and Outreach Activities at the Baltic Defence College.

As the Dean, she intends to maintain strong partnerships, invest in faculty development and support students and alumni as they lead in complex environments.

Her primary areas of research interest focus on sociological approaches to civil-military relations, conscription, and veterans' issues. She is currently the President of the International Society of Military Studies (ISMS), having also presided over the European Research Group on the Military and Society.

Dr. Truusa's work highlights the interconnection between civilian and military spheres in society.
