Visit by the UK Royal College of Defence Studies

On 13 May, a delegation of international course members and staff from the UK Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) visited the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). The group was accompanied by the British Deputy Defence Attaché to Estonia, Lieutenant Colonel Maguire.

The delegation was welcomed by the Deputy Commandant/Chief of Staff of BALTDEFCOL, Colonel Jonathan Huxley, and the Dean, Ms Tiia-Triin Truusa.

During their visit, RCDS participants joined the BALTDEFCOL Higher Command Studies Course (HCSC)—which educates military officers and civilian government officials from the Baltic states, their allies, and partners on executive responsibilities at the strategic level—for an online workshop delivered by the National Defence University of Ukraine. The session provided valuable insights and was followed by a discussion led by the HCSC Course Director, Colonel (ret.) Çlirim Toci, fostering an exchange of perspectives among participants.

The visit also included a comprehensive overview of the Baltic Defence College, outlining its development and current role, while describing its educational programmes and future direction. The programme continued in Tartu with a visit to the University of Tartu, further strengthening academic and institutional ties.
