On 7 November 2025, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the exceptional honour of hosting Major General Dan Newman, Commander of the Israel Defense Forces Military Colleges (INDC). MG Newman was accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Matan Or, Director of Academic and International Affairs at the IDF Colleges and INDC, and Lieutenant Colonel Roy Horowitz, Israel’s Defence Attaché to Estonia, Finland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

During the visit, both Professional Military Education institutions shared briefings to enhance mutual understanding of their educational programmes, research, and academic activities, while exploring potential areas for future cooperation.

Following the meeting with the BALTDEFCOL Commandant, MG Newman delivered a lecture titled “Lessons on War” to the participants of the Joint Command and General Staff Course and the Civil Servants’ Course.

This visit marked a historic milestone as the first-ever visit by an Israeli Professional Military Education institution to Estonia.
