On 9 October 2026, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the honour to welcome H.E. Mr Alexandre Escorcia, the Ambassador of France to Estonia, accompanied by Colonel Christophe Degand, Defence Attaché.

During his first official visit, the Ambassador was warmly welcomed by the Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, Major General Egils Leščinskis. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the College's core vision, mission, comprehensive educational programmes, and ongoing academic activities.

During the office call, discussions focused on the strong ties between France and BALTDEFCOL, noting France's valuable role as a contributing nation through personnel positions.

Furthermore, the visit involved broader discussions on bilateral relations, defence cooperation, and regional security issues. Such meetings continue to strengthen ties and facilitate the exchange of perspectives on matters of mutual interest.
