On 17 September 2025, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted a group of students from Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies accompanied by Moldavan students as part of the project “Connecting Estonia and Moldova for European Readiness and Innovative Education.”
The visit was opened with an introduction to the Baltic Defence College delivered by Dr Asta Maskaliūnaitė, Director of the Department of Political and Strategic Studies.
The academic programme included a lecture by Dr Viljar Veebel on the “Baltic Security Brief 2025” and a presentation on regional security developments by Dr Daivis Petraitis, with a particular focus on Russian and allied forces in the region, potential courses of action, and future developments.
Through this exchange, the visiting students gained valuable insights into the College’s mission, its role in regional security studies, and the broader Euro-Atlantic security environment.
The visit contributed to building stronger educational ties and fostering a deeper understanding of shared challenges between Estonia, Moldova, and their partners.
