Roundtable “Key Challenges in Implementing a Defence Policy" held at BALTDEFCOL

Every April, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) upholds a significant tradition by hosting a panel discussion featuring the senior leadership of the Baltic states' armed forces. This high-level roundtable serves as a critical platform for strategic dialogue, bringing together top military officials from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Distinguished Panelists
This year’s event featured a prominent lineup of regional commanders and chiefs:
  • MG Viktor Kalnitski: Deputy Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces.

  • MG Georgs Kerlins: Deputy Chief of Defence and Chief of Staff of the Latvian National Armed Forces Joint Headquarters.

  • RADM Giedrius Premeneckas: Chief of Defence Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and Vice Chief of Defence.

Moderated by Dr Daivis Petraitis, the roundtable focused on the complex challenges involved in implementing modern defence policies. The discussion provided students and faculty with an invaluable, comprehensive overview of the regional security landscape.

By facilitating direct interaction with the architects of Baltic military strategy, BALTDEFCOL continues to offer its academic community a practical understanding of how national policies translate into regional collective defence.
