BALTDEFCOL´s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

On 15 April 2026, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the honour of hosting a Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

The Hall of Fame was established in 2016 to provide a prestigious and visible means of recognition for graduates of the College who have attained, through merit, the highest positions in their nation's armed forces, or who have held equivalent positions of responsibility within a ministry.

Today's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was extraordinary, as we inducted three high-level representatives from all three Framework Nations: Mr Kaimo Kuusk, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Estonia (graduate of Civil Servants' Course 2003/2004 and Senior Leaders' Course 2025); Mr Aivars Puriņš, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Latvia (graduate of Higher Command Studies Course 2007); and Mr Karolis Aleksa, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania (graduate of the Higher Command Studies Course 2016).

The ceremony was opened by the Acting Commandant/Chief of Staff, COL Huxley, who thanked all three inductees for their consistent support to the College, including their participation in an excellent Defence Policy roundtable conducted with our Higher Command Studies Course students in the morning.

The Hall of Fame is never 'finished'; there is always space for the next frame. For our students, it serves as a daily reminder that any member of their class might one day find themselves making the calls that shape our regional security.
