On 27 February 2026, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) once again opened its doors for its spectacular International Night—an evening that left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. 

The event was opened by the BALTDEFCOL Commandant, Brigadier Alvydas Šiuparis, and Command Sergeant Major Alvydas Tamošiūnas. 

The magnificent Main Hall was transformed into a joyful festival of food, beverages, and culture, brought to life through the immense efforts of 17 participating nations, the BALTSPOUSES, and the College staff. Their collective contribution created an atmosphere so rich and vibrant that guests were swept into a world of colours, aromas, and traditions from across the globe. 

The College seemed to pulse with international energy. National stands overflowed with culinary specialities and beverages, while traditional dress filled the room with colour and character. The event captured the true spirit of BALTDEFCOL—a genuinely multinational community where diversity is not only visible but celebrated with pride. 

The evening’s programme elevated the atmosphere even further, featuring enthralling performances by an Estonian folk music and dance ensemble; a historical combat demonstration by NCOs of the Honor Guard Company of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Grand Duke Gediminas Staff Battalion; and "feel-good" music delivered by the Latvian National Armed Forces Army Orchestra’s Variety Ensemble. There was even a cheese-holding contest for both men and women. 

A moving highlight of the event was the charity raffle organised by the BALTSPOUSES. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of attendees, an impressive €3,360 was raised in support of a project dedicated to the psychological recovery of active-duty personnel, families of the fallen, and families of POWs, organised by the Ukrainian 30th Marine Corps. This collective act of compassion added a profound sense of purpose to the celebration, demonstrating the community’s ability to extend care and solidarity far beyond its own walls. 

International Night 2026 was not only a celebration of culture—it was a testament to friendship, unity, and the deep connections shared within the BALTDEFCOL family. It was an evening that reminded everyone present of the power of coming together, contributing wholeheartedly, and creating something unforgettable.
