DMS visit to the Latvian 2nd Vidzeme Brigade of the Home Guard

On August 19–20, the Baltic Defence College Department of Military Studies (DMS) visited Latvian Armed Forces units stationed in the Vidzeme region as part of the DMS personnel's professional development program and team-building activities.

During the visit, DMS personnel received briefings from the Latvian National Guard 2nd Vidzeme Brigade, the NCO School, and the Infantry School. These briefings addressed the current security situation in the
Baltics, the Latvian Armed Forces’ military capability development, as well as the LNAF training system.
In addition to unit visits, DMS personnel explored historical sites and gained insights into Latvian history from the medieval period to the present day. This included a visit to Cēsis Medieval Castle and the Monument of Victory, where they paid tribute to the fallen Estonian and Latvian soldiers who fought in the Battle of Cēsis.

DMS personnel express their appreciation to the Latvian National Armed Forces Training and Doctrine Command units and the 2nd National Guard Brigade for their warm hospitality.
