On 11 February, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted a visit by Major General Peter H. Boysen, Commander of the Danish Army.
Major General Boysen and his delegation, including Command Sergeant Major Jesper Madsen Moelgaard and Captain Katrine Junker, were welcomed by the BALTDEFCOL leadership. The visit was also attended by the Higher Command Studies Course 2026 participant, Col Hovgaard from Denmark.
The visit started with a briefing session giving an overview of College's mission, vision and academic programmes, which was followed by the discussions regarding the College's strategic role in professional military education.
A key highlight of the programme was the General’s visit to the Estonian Military Academy's Simulation Centre, where he presented his insights to the Joint Command and General Staff Course (JCGSC) and the Civil Servants' Course. This engagement provided students with valuable operational perspectives and was followed by an engaging Q&A session.
Since the College's establishment, Denmark has remained a pivotal partner—a connection initiated by Colonel Michael H. Clemmesen, the visionary behind the institution and BALTDEFCOL's first Commandant. To date, this collaboration has seen over 40 Danish officers graduate from the College’s core courses, significantly contributing to shared professional excellence and the interoperability of our armed forces.
